Australia has the Employer Nomination Scheme wherein individuals are granted permanent residence to overseas workers who are sponsored by their Australian employer. Primarily, this is done and implemented in order to increase the Australian economy’s ability to compete globally and to address the shortage of workers in certain industries. Currently, Australia’s labor force is constantly growing, and it needs migrant workers to keep up with the growth.
